This is the lovely spot where I ate lunch today. It was very peaceful, and the trees seemed like they were about to pop with leaves at any moment.

Creamy peanut butter and jelly - but if we're truly talking favorites, then the jelly needs to be of the Ollalieberry variety. I've only ever found it at a tiny little diner in the tiny town of Pescadero, CA.

Girl likes boy but boy marries another girl. Girl is sad and marries another boy to provoke jealously. Unfortunately, shortly after the wedding, Husband dies of the measles.
The girl then moves to Atlanta and meets a boy who courts her and eventually marries her. Unfortunately, Husband No. 2 is killed by the Ku Klux Klan. Finally the girl marries the local "bad boy," but still pines for her first love. The bad boy eventually leaves, and the girl gets no one. Everyone lives unhappily ever after.-

My brother was born when I was 6 and when I asked my mom where babies came from, she told me that "a special signal travels from daddy's tummy to mommy's tummy and that makes a baby." I imagined that my parents would lay next to each other at night and a big ball of light would come out of my father and float through the air to my mom. Thanks to a crappy Catholic school education, I didn't learn about sex until I was 13 - and even then, it was just something "bad" people do - it was not connected to baby-making. It was several more years before I found out the real deal.-

I borrowed a walkman (remember those??) from a friend in college, and she went abroad before I had a chance to give it back. I still have the thing, even though I've seen her at least 50 times since college (15 years ago!) AND no one even listens to tapes anymore!

I have to say, I really wanted to love the movie, but it wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. The kid is a brat, and it's hard to empathize with him. There are also some RANDOM extra characters (these two weird owls who have nothing to do with the plot). I'd give it only 2 stars.

This book is how I found out that there is no Santa Claus. Very sad. I hid it from my younger brother for many years, so that he could enjoy the magic of Santa, but then he checked it out of the library. We both HATE this book as a result!
